Interface for accessing AWS RDS DataService.

Note: Do not directly implement this interface, new methods are added to it regularly. Extend from AbstractAWSRDSData instead.

Amazon RDS Data Service

Amazon RDS provides an HTTP endpoint to run SQL statements on an Amazon Aurora Serverless DB cluster. To run these statements, you work with the Data Service API.

batchExecuteStatement

BatchExecuteStatementResult batchExecuteStatement(BatchExecuteStatementRequest batchExecuteStatementRequest)

Runs a batch SQL statement over an array of data.

You can run bulk update and insert operations for multiple records using a DML statement with different parameter sets. Bulk operations can provide a significant performance improvement over individual insert and update operations.

If a call isn't part of a transaction because it doesn't include the transactionID parameter, changes that result from the call are committed automatically.

Parameters:

batchExecuteStatementRequest - The request parameters represent the input of a SQL statement over an array of data.

Returns:

Result of the BatchExecuteStatement operation returned by the service.

Throws:

BadRequestException - There is an error in the call or in a SQL statement.

StatementTimeoutException - The execution of the SQL statement timed out.

InternalServerErrorException - An internal error occurred.

beginTransaction

BeginTransactionResult beginTransaction(BeginTransactionRequest beginTransactionRequest)

Starts a SQL transaction.

  <important> <p>A transaction can run for a maximum of 24 hours. A transaction is terminated and rolled back automatically after 24 hours.</p> <p>A transaction times out if no calls use its transaction ID in three minutes. If a transaction times out before it's committed, it's rolled back automatically.</p> <p>DDL statements inside a transaction cause an implicit commit. We recommend that you run each DDL statement in a separate <code>ExecuteStatement</code> call with <code>continueAfterTimeout</code> enabled.</p> </important>

Ends a SQL transaction started with the BeginTransaction operation and commits the changes.

executeStatement

ExecuteStatementResult executeStatement(ExecuteStatementRequest executeStatementRequest)

Runs a SQL statement against a database.

If a call isn't part of a transaction because it doesn't include the transactionID parameter, changes that result from the call are committed automatically.

The response size limit is 1 MB. If the call returns more than 1 MB of response data, the call is terminated.

Parameters:

executeStatementRequest - The request parameters represent the input of a request to run a SQL statement against a database.

Returns:

Result of the ExecuteStatement operation returned by the service.

Throws:

BadRequestException - There is an error in the call or in a SQL statement.

rollbackTransaction

Performs a rollback of a transaction. Rolling back a transaction cancels its changes.

shutdown

void shutdown()

Shuts down this client object, releasing any resources that might be held open. This is an optional method, and callers are not expected to call it, but can if they want to explicitly release any open resources. Once a client has been shutdown, it should not be used to make any more requests.

getCachedResponseMetadata

ResponseMetadata getCachedResponseMetadata(AmazonWebServiceRequest request)

Returns additional metadata for a previously executed successful request, typically used for debugging issues where a service isn't acting as expected. This data isn't considered part of the result data returned by an operation, so it's available through this separate, diagnostic interface.

Response metadata is only cached for a limited period of time, so if you need to access this extra diagnostic information for an executed request, you should use this method to retrieve it as soon as possible after executing a request.

Parameters:

request - The originally executed request.

Returns:

The response metadata for the specified request, or null if none is available.
