Support for query by example.

 List results = session.createCriteria(Parent.class)
     .add( Example.create(parent).ignoreCase() )
     .createCriteria("child")
         .add( Example.create( parent.getChild() ) )
     .list();
 

"Examples" may be mixed and matched with "Expressions" in the same Criteria.
